More light reaches the cells
Reduce soiling on the glass surface to help preserve the output of your PV installation.

CERACOAT CERAMIC™ SC · SWITZERLAND
A ceramic self-cleaning coating for solar panels. Designed to reduce dirt build-up, preserve energy yield and ease maintenance.
THE CHALLENGE
Dust, organic deposits and environmental contamination reduce the light reaching solar cells. Cleaning restores the surface. CERACOAT helps keep it cleaner between maintenance visits.
Reduce soiling on the glass surface to help preserve the output of your PV installation.
Less dirt build-up and a sun-and-rain cleaning cycle can allow significantly longer intervals between manual cleaning visits.
Apply to an existing installation or discuss factory-coated modules for a new project.
THE CERACOAT EFFECT
Sunlight activates the photocatalytic coating. Its super-hydrophilic surface allows rainwater to spread into a film, helping carry loosened contamination away.
How it worksPhotocatalytic action helps break down organic dirt.
Water forms a film across the coated surface.
Rain helps remove loosened deposits.
LONG-LASTING SURFACE CARE
CERACOAT is designed to remain active for up to 5 years. Reduced dirt build-up can significantly extend the intervals between manual cleaning visits.
Service life and cleaning intervals depend on application quality, rainfall, panel tilt and local contamination. Up to 5 years of coating activity does not mean a fixed 5-year cleaning interval.
REPORTED PROJECT RESULTS
Reported average energy advantage of coated strings over untreated comparison strings.
Reported production comparison between two systems, one coated and one uncoated.
Maximum reported increase for an individual string after 3 months; not the average for the entire installation.
These figures come from the supplied project summaries. Different sites and test methods are not directly comparable, and no percentage is a guaranteed result for a new installation.
